Summer Reading Challenge 2018

The National Summer Reading Challenge is an annual initiative and it was established primarily to address the well-researched phenomenon known as “Summer Slide’ or “Summer Learning Loss”. What does that mean? It refers to the tendency for students to lose some of the achievement gains they would have made during the previous school years, during their summer vacation period. Research suggests that one of the main prevention strategies is to consistently engage in reading activity.
